Hello

As a person with late diagnosed ADHD I understand what it’s  like to go through life feeling like I’m not as together as I’m “supposed” to be. I will admit it took me years to launch this business. I almost gave up many times. But, I did it! I'm making myself available as a resource to help other adults experiencing executive functioning challenges. I believe with my Master of Science Degree in Counseling, nearly 20 years of experience as a School Psychologist, extensive training in Executive Function Skills (EFS), and living with these obstacles myself,  I am in a unique position to support others with executive dysfunction on their learning, healing, and growing path.

My Role

I work in what I would describe as a “coachsultant” role. Combining skills and services provided by both consultants and coaches. In a nutshell my role is to support clients in setting and carrying out their goals with consistency and self compassion. Rather than focusing on traditional coaching concepts such as maximizing, optimizing, and potential,  I support clients by emphasizing self-acceptance, reasonable expectations, and creating a “neuroappropriate” lifestyle.

My Story

Education

As some of you may have experienced, the traditional school setting wasn't a great fit for me. Although I was an avid learner in topics of my own interest, I struggled to do well in school. I knew I wanted to go to college, but that a traditional four year university straight out of high school likely wasn't my destiny. I attended Santa Barbara City College for several years before transferring to California State University, Northridge where I obtained a B.A. in Deaf Studies, and B.S. in Psychology. I then went on to complete a small cohort, combined masters program. I graduated with honors in 2004 with a M.S. in Counseling, MFT (Marriage, Family Therapy emphasis), and a School Psychology Credential.

Career

I really connected with school psychology during my internship and knew I would go directly into that career, rather than pursuing my MFT license. I absolutely loved advocating for students to get the help I never received, but greatly needed. To this day I love the career of School Psychologist, but over time I became increasingly dissatisfied with the job. I eventually left the field and set out to open my own business. I wanted my work to feel meaningful and exciting again. While building my business I contracted with a local neuropsychology clinic testing patients for ADHD and Dementia.
